About this service
Yoga and breathwork have been practiced for thousands of years as tools for healing the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. At Asè Roots Collective, we offer these practices in a way that is explicitly welcoming to Black bodies, larger bodies, older bodies, and bodies that have never set foot in a yoga studio.
Our classes are trauma-informed, culturally grounded, and led by instructors who understand that wellness spaces have not always felt safe for our community. Here, you will never be adjusted without consent, never compared to anyone else, and never made to feel like you are doing it wrong. There is no wrong here.
Breathwork is woven throughout our sessions as a powerful tool for regulating the nervous system, releasing stored emotion, and returning to the present moment. Whether you are brand new to movement or a seasoned practitioner, you will find something here that meets you exactly where you are.

Common questions
I'm not flexible at all. Is this still for me?
Absolutely. Flexibility is not a prerequisite for yoga — it's a possible outcome. Our classes are designed for real bodies, not Instagram bodies.
What if I have an injury or chronic condition?
Please let your instructor know before class. We offer modifications for most conditions and will never push you past what feels safe.
Are classes held indoors or outdoors?
Both. We hold classes indoors at our community space and outdoors in partnership with local parks and green spaces when weather permits.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. We welcome families. Children are invited to participate or rest quietly nearby. Community care is part of our practice.
