About this service

Education, not diagnosis. Empowerment, not fear.

Asè Roots Collective offers preventive health education for both men and women — because whole-community wellness means no one is left out. Our sessions are rooted in health literacy, cultural relevance, and honest conversation. We are not here to diagnose or treat. We are here to inform, support, and walk alongside you.

For women, our sessions cover reproductive health awareness, maternal and infant wellness, chronic disease risk factors, nutrition, mental health, and navigating the healthcare system with confidence. For men, we address heart health, diabetes prevention, stress and mental wellness, prostate health awareness, and the barriers that keep Black men from seeking care.

We believe that when people have real information — delivered with respect, in plain language, by someone who looks like them and lives in their community — they make better decisions for themselves and their families. That is the foundation of everything we do.

Common questions

Is this a medical appointment or diagnosis?

No. Our health educators are not physicians and do not diagnose or treat conditions. We provide health education, wellness information, and connections to care. Think of it as a knowledgeable friend helping you understand your options.

Are sessions separate for men and women?

We offer both. Some sessions are co-ed, and some are tailored specifically for men or women depending on the topic. When you book, let us know what you're looking for and we'll match you to the right session.

What topics do men's sessions cover?

Heart health, blood pressure and diabetes awareness, mental wellness, stress management, prostate health basics, and how to find and access care in the Delta. We also talk honestly about why Black men avoid doctors — and what it takes to change that.

What topics do women's sessions cover?

Reproductive health awareness, maternal and infant wellness, postpartum support, chronic disease prevention, nutrition, mental health, and navigating the healthcare system as a Black woman.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself. If you have recent lab results or health records, feel free to bring them — but they are not required. We start wherever you are.
