About this service
Pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period are among the most sacred and vulnerable passages in a person's life. At Asè Roots Collective, our doula care is built on the belief that every Black mother, birthing person, and family deserves continuous, compassionate support — not just in the delivery room, but before and long after.
Our doulas are trained in both evidence-based practices and ancestral healing traditions. We walk alongside you through prenatal education, birth planning, labor support, and the tender weeks that follow. We advocate for you in medical spaces, hold space for your fears and your joy, and help you trust your body's wisdom.
Black maternal health outcomes in Mississippi are among the most urgent crises in our community. We are here to change that — one family at a time. No insurance required. No judgment. Just presence, care, and love.

Common questions
Do I need insurance to receive doula care?
No. Our services are free to the community. You do not need insurance, a referral, or any documentation to receive care.
How early in pregnancy should I reach out?
As early as you'd like. We welcome you in your first trimester, but we will meet you wherever you are — even if you're already in your third trimester or postpartum.
Can my partner or family member be involved?
Absolutely. We support the whole family. Partners and support people are welcome at all visits and during birth.
What if I'm having a C-section?
Doula support is just as valuable for cesarean births. We will be with you before, during (where permitted), and after your surgery.
